Small Improvements and Changes for ‘08

This blog is still an infant in the grand scheme of things so growth and change is exciting and inevitable. Here are a few things to expect for the new year. Some effect the readers more than others so check them out.

1. New Sidebar Image. This has already been done a day early. It was originally an image of a man on his computer but I thought that it was too distracting and bulky (as did several readers I asked) so I have replaced it with an appropriate, yet more subtle image. Hope you like it.

2. More Categories. I have some posts in the works to expand the focus of the blog. It will of course still be written to suite the pros who read this but I will be going into more detail about specific things so more categories are a must.

3. Product Reviews. Professionals need tools to keep them productive. In the coming year I will spotlight products and services that I have tried myself and let you know what I think of them.

4. Ads. It is inevitable. If I want to keep the blog going I’ll need to generate some revenue from it. I am definitely going to keep it light and I don’t expect to make much but I’ll need enough to keep the lights on.

5. Donations. This one is not for sure yet. I am contemplating accepting donations on the site. I think it would be a good way to keep the amount of ads down and allow readers to support the blog in an additional way besides clicking ads. If anyone thinks I shouldn’t let me know in a comment.

6. Community Building. I have recently been experimenting with social networking online. It seems that it is rather effective and brings in great readers who I can really help. We’ll see where this road takes the blog.

7. Guest Posts. Being that I am only one man, as it says in my About Page, I feel it would benefit readers to get insight from other writers who touch on the topics of Zen Problog. I do not really have means to pay guest writers but I would prominently display a link and name to whomever is up for it. Let me know if you are interested.
